Vaishaly Signature Facial

It's not everyday people get to experience their dreams. On 19th March 2014 I experienced one of mine, I had a facial with superfacialist Vaishaly. I've had some facials in my time but nothing compares to this.

Vaishaly has her own line of organic and natural products which are some of my ultimate favourites. I discovered this beautiful range in 2006 at my local organic skincare store. On the day it launched in store I bought the Cleansing Balm and never looked back. I have been using Vaishaly products since 2006 and I can confirm that each one actually works. If there was only one brand of products I could use for the rest of my life it would be Vaishaly's.

Vaishaly's Signature facial is expertly prescriptive and will be completely different for everyone and depending on their skincare needs so it feels very personal.

Now for my facial experience. I had the facial as part of my 29th birthday in Vaishaly's super impressive skin clinic in Marylebone, London.

I was greeted by Vaishaly and some of her team. I instantly felt starstruck and felt extremely welcomed. Vaishaly looked absolutely radiant with gorgeous glowing skin.
Vaishaly and me
I was taken to one of the therapy rooms and the facial started with Vaishaly analysing my skin. Vaishaly asked for my lifestyle and dietary choices. I informed her that I had dry skin, after closer inspection I was informed that my skin was dry on the surface and oily underneath. Once the facial started any sense of anxiety from my busy lifestyle completely vanished.

Vaishaly cleansed my face and neck area with the beautiful aromatic Cleansing Balm. Once cleansed the facial proceeded with some extractions using a comedone extractor. This removes and clears any blocked pores. This was completely painless and felt as though my skin was getting a thorough deep cleanse.

Afterwards I underwent a gentle micro-dermabrasion to lift off any dead skin cells. Micro-dermabrasion is something I've never experienced before, it felt completely painless and I was excited to try it.

After micro-dermabrasion Vaishaly used by high frequency tool which helped to close any open pores, kill any bacteria in the skin and also smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

Now the deep relaxing part of the facial was Vaishaly's unique massage technique which made me drift off in a sense of heavenly bliss. Saying that Vaishaly has magic hands would be an understatement. I did not want this to end.

After the highly calming massage Vaishaly did some Reiki healing technique and cranial work which let me completely switch off and made me feel blissfully at peace. The exquisite essential oil blend in Vaishaly's organic product line such as Organic Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Geranium, Rose and Chamomile makes you feel in a state of intense euphoria.

The facial finished with some of the Vaishaly Day Moisturiser SPF15 dry/sensitive being applied to my face and neck, which is my favourite product of all time.

The result beautiful glowing skin. It is no wonder Vaishaly's facial is so sought after and used by so many celebrities. We all need to treat ourselves once in a while and something of deep relaxation it's a fantastic way to manage stress.

Vaishaly's signature facial is such an intensive treatment it's like having a mini facelift.  My skin is unbelievably soft, fresh, clear and looks visibly lifted in appearance.

If you're looking for a high luxury treat then I highly recommend you look into getting a Vaishaly Signature facial. But book in advance as it has a 3 month waiting list!

Ambre Botanicals Raw pure skincare

Ambre Botanicals
Background info

It's no secret that I love raw food and I also love raw skincare.
I discovered Ambre Botanicals when my gorgeous friend Galina was raving about how she loved the brand's hand cream. You can read Galina's review here.

If you are looking for seriously pure 100% natural skincare where everything is actually plant sourced, then look no further than Ambre. Not only is every ingredient derived from plants 100% of the ingredients are  raw. Ambre Botanicals products are simple and yet very effective. Their formulations do not contain any water, synthetic chemicals and are extremely potent. Ambre Botanical products are made by hand in small batches in London.

What I love most about this brand is that they are raw. To be classified as raw, ingredients must be raw at source and not heated up to beyond 38°C/100.4 F as beyond this temperature the essential vitamins and enzymes begin to breakdown, die and thus lose their potent benefits.
Raw ingredients are more active, some people consider the ingredients to be alive. I always noticed a great difference in my skin when I use raw skincare. I get better results, it makes more sense really as a cleanser, oil, cream or moisturiser that contains raw ingredients will be far more active on the skin than a cream that has been boiled to death.

This article includes reviews for the brands eye catching:

Mango and Carrot Seed Extra Concentrated Hand Cream

Our hands are more exposed than any other part of our body, to pollutants, age spots, wear and tear from work. This cream is formulated to give hands the best care and protection possible — to moisturise, nourish, heal and revitalise, making them feel smooth, silky and happy.

Carrot seed oil is a natural source of beta-carotene or pro-vitamin A, an ingredient that reduces free-radical damage and removes toxin residues from the skin. It is also excellent to help the healing process of the skin — it soothes and relieves dry skin conditions. The oil that we use for this cream is not distilled, but pressed under low temperatures, resulting in exceptionally potent, thick and earthy oil.

Cold-pressed mango butter, luxurious fat of mango seed is packed with vitamins and glycerides of essential oleic and stearic acids. It gives the skin a soft emollient feel, and has an excellent healing quality.

Not containing any water, this butter-cream is very rich — a little will go a long way.

Vitamin & Essential fatty acids content: beta-carotene, vitamins A, B, C, D, F, E, minerals; Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids; Lecithin.

Will suit: any skin, will especially benefit dry chapped winter or garden hands.

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Pumpkin Seed & Kokum with Fruit & Nut Oils Face Cream

This cream is an extremely concentrated, generous blend of the finest, undiluted and unheated, pure plant oils and butters, rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, and formulated to nourish, rejuvenate and hydrate even the most dry skin.

Cold pressed Pumpkin seed oil we use for this cream has high zinc, protein and polyunsaturated fats content, and helps to heal and sooth the skin. Pumpkin seed butter is rich in vitamins A, E & C, fatty acids and antioxidants; it is perfect for rejuvenating and revitalizing dried and damaged skin.

Borage oil is the richest sources of essential fatty acids - gamma linolenic acid (GLA) available to man - up to 25%. This helps to encourage mobile joints and tissues, and to re-establish and maintain normal skin function. It is also a fantastic source for linolenic acid, vitamins and minerals. It is obtained from the dark brown seeds of the Starflower by the simple cold expression.

Seabuckthorn oil is extracted by steaming from the plant’s berries that are rich in vitamins and minerals. Because of this, the oil is well credited it with reducing fine lines, regenerating skin cells, and improving immune activity and healing of skin injuries.

Cupuacu butter, the rain forest’s answer to Shea butter, a semi-solid triglyceride, is an excellent emollient that has been shown to significantly increase skin hydration and reduce transepidermal water loss. It has a tremendous capacity for water absorption and offers proven skin moisturizing benefits that help restore the skin’s natural humidity and elasticity.

Easily penetrated into the skin, Cupuacu delivers blend of luxurious active oils of Passion Fruit, Avocado, Borage, Pumpkin seed, Seabuckthon and Rice Bran into the inner layers of the skin. Together they feed and hydrate, heal, rejuvenate and revitalize skin, making it smooth, silky and strong.

Not containing any water, this cream is very rich — a little will go a long way.

Vitamin & Essential Fatty Acids content: Vitamins A, D, C, E, B1, B2, B6, K; Gamma Linolenic acid, Linolenic and Oleic Acids - Omega 3 & 6; Palmitoleic Acids, Palmitic Acids, Folic Acids, Amino Acids, Lipids, Minerals, Protein, Lecithin and natural antioxidants.

Rosemary, Thyme and Mint Invigorating Herbal Bath Oil

This gorgeous eye catching bath oil is just perfect. I mean seriously just look at the stunning bottle below with natural herbs floating around inside. I could stare at it all day. Since having the product, many people that entered my bathroom picked up the bottle and said "wow what's this?"

As for the product itself it is a luxurious bath oil. I usually tend to go for floral bath oils but this is totally different to anything I've ever tried. The essential oils of Rosemary, Thyme and Spearmint give the bath oil a lovely cooling and uplifting effect. The emollient oils of Safflower, Macadamia and Castor oil make the skin of the body so soft. I also like using this to bathe my feet due to the bath oil's skin softening properties.

When using this bath oil there really is no need to apply any body moisturisers afterwards as this is moisturising enough depending on how much you use. You can also use this in the shower, just massage into wet skin, leave on for  a few minutes and rinse with a soap or shower gel.

As with any bath oil ensure that you clean the bath after use so you don't slip in the bath.

Mango and Carrot Seed Extra Concentrated Hand Cream

I think this is my favourite Ambre product that I've tried. This gorgeous emollient balm is highly nourishing. You only need a very small amount. It has the most gorgeous fresh scent which is not too over powering. A few weeks back due to the cold weather I was really struggling with my dry lips so I decided to try this as a lip balm and much to my relief it worked, my dry chapped lips were healed in a matter of a few days. This product doubles up and makes for the most perfect lip balm.

This hand balm has the most beautiful texture due to the Mango butter it contains. It also contains  Carrot oil which is rich in vitamin A which helps to deeply rejuvenate the hands. Unlike most hand balms on the market this one doesn't contain bees wax and the skin eventually readily absorbs all the oils so you are not left with that greasy feeling.

This hand balm feels remarkably healing, deeply moisturising and comforting relieving any dryness. I prefer using this at night to wake up to baby soft hands and gorgeously soft lips. Due to all the oils this contains at 60ml this will last you far longer than your regular hand cream. It is so so concentrated you only need the tiniest amount. It is superb value for money. You can always tell when products are high in antioxidants as they have colour, this is an orangey colour due to all of the beta carotene it contains.

Pumpkin Seed & Kokum with Fruit & Nut Oils Face Cream

For anyone where essential oils are of a concern with sensitivity you should try this face balm. It is Essential Oil free and rich in exotic butters and oils such as Kokum Butter, Passion Fruit Oil, hydrating avocado oil, anti ageing and antioxidant power house seabuckthorn oil and vitamin e.
This is a very rich balm, it spreads well and feels extremely nourishing. It makes a perfect makeup primer and base for mineral makeup. It's so gentle you can also use it around the delicate eye area. This comes in a 30ml and although it might seem small this is such a concentrated waterless balm it lasts ages making it excellent value for money.

Gentle Face Soap with Avocado, Shea, Rice Bran, Calendula and Sandalwood

I've never been the type of guy to use a soap. As my skin tends to be on the drier side soaps always seem to strip the little oils I have in my skin however, this little facial soap is very kind and delicate to the skin. It smells gorgeous like Sandalwood and does not leave the skin feeling stripped. Instead it leaves the skin lovely and soft and never tight. This is extremely good value for money as it's 50g for £10, superb if you are on a budget. It foams up excellently and it's a true pleasure to use. Guys might be pleased to know you can also use this to shave with so it doubles up as a shaving soap.
This little soap is excellent when used with a facial brush. I use Sisley Gentle Brush for Face and Neck which helps this soap create a great lather which is perfect for a wet shave and also daily cleansing removing every bit of dirt and grime whilst leaving the skin soft and perfectly clean, there really is no need to use a toner after using this product.

Overall conclusions

I really enjoy all of the Ambre Botanical products. Each one is different and unique to anything I've ever tried before. This range is unisex and appeals to everyone. I would definitely buy everything again, especially the hand cream as it also makes for one fantastic lip balm. These products are absolutely perfect for the winter. I love the fact they are 100% raw and completely vegan. It is so difficult to find a decent balm which is free of bees wax these days. As it's nearly spring time these would make the most perfect products to use whilst on a detox as they are so unbelievably pure.
The brand offer generous travel sizes for people that may want to try before investing in the full sized products.

So glad that Galina introduced me to this brand, next I really want to try Cupuacu Rich Moisturising Body Butter, the Fifteen Fresh Oils Extra Nourishing Body Moisturiser and their Luxurious Oils Blend Vitamins & Fatty Acids Rich Face Serum.

I highly recommend Ambre Botanicals and you won't be disappointed with these raw, luxurious and pure products. I'm so impressed with all of the products featured in this article I have rated them a whopping HGB rating of 5 leafs. I'd buy all these products again in a heart beat. The brand brings something unique to the market and they are remarkably different to anything else out there. I'm so impressed I've added this brand to my Star Products they are that good!

Dr Jackson's Skin Cream 02

Background info

I first came across this brand when I was on the hunt for a natural SPF in Birmingham city centre. I remember my last call being Harvey Nichols. Whilst browsing the natural section I noticed some little brown jars on the bottom shelf. Curious as to what they were I picked up a Dr Jackson's day cream. The packaging looked very plain and simple with them being housed in plain cardboard boxes. I looked at the ingredients list and I was very impressed. I had never heard of the brand before and I started to wonder where it had been hiding. I couldn't wait to get home to research it. After reading up on the brand and researching their products I really wanted to try these products out.

Dr Jackson's products are a small range of luxury products that have been laboriously researched, formulated and produced by one of the world’s leading scientists in plant medicine. Dr Jacksons only use the highest quality ingredients and their products are formulated scientifically ensuring the regenerative, protective and damage reversal properties of the plant extracts used achieve visible results. They are also manufactured in the UK.

Whilst a young student on an expedition in the Amazon rainforest Dr Simon Jackson was taken under the wing of a local Shaman from the Jaguar tribe. This old man shared with him the knowledge of the many plants that provided the primary health care for his tribe’s ailments and had done for many generations. This knowledge was not written anywhere but had been passed down from his forefathers through many generations of medicine men. This began Simon’s fascination with nature’s amazing and complex powers of healing and the ancient medicines derived from indigenous flora from different parts of the world. He has travelled around the globe since, to many of the ancient rain forests and lived with local tribes to research his science and met with many Shamans and local healers.

This is a review for the 50ml Pharmacy bottle sized product which lasted 6 weeks using it day and night on the face and neck area.

Product description

Skin Cream 02:

Dr Jackson is a Pharmacognosist and has formulated this cream using natural extracts of Kigelia, Baobab, Frankincense and Mango Seed Extract. Kigelia is traditionally used to repair and ensure blemish free skin, Baobab helps to alleviate dry and damaged skin, improve skin tone and elasticity, Frankincense for its reputed anti-inflammatory and skin healing capabilities and Mango seed extract for its superior moisturising properties.

Packaging

Finished 50ml Pharmacy bottle

Packaging

The product comes housed in a small brown bottle. The glass is tinted which will help to protect against the UV rays from the sun.

Application

This is a thick cream and can feel quite heavy on the skin. Its been great to use during the cold mornings. I have also been using this as a night cream. I find the packaging to be a bit awkward and feel this would be a lot easier to use if it were in an airless pump. As I am a bit clumsy I have dropped the lid a few times which was quite frustrating. It goes onto the skin easily and feels very moisturising. The cream spreads over the face and neck with ease and does not roll off. This cream can easily be used on its own due to its moisturising effects and anti ageing ingredients. This leaves the skin feeling smooth and silky.

Results and review

I have become quite a fan of this cream simply because it smells great and feels very refreshing on the skin. As I mentioned earlier the cream is quite thick which can be a negative for some people with oily skin types but its great for this time of year due to the cold weather. It feels somewhat protective against the elements. I have been using this day and night, it may be a bit heavy on the skin for some people to use at night however, if you have dry skin then this cream is for you. My skin looked flawless in the mornings after using this for a few weeks so refreshed and hydrated. The smell is gorgeous making it almost edible this is a real bonus and makes using this cream a joy.

The cream contains an impressive array of ingredients which some are very anti ageing. The ingredients aim to deliver anti ageing benefits whilst also feeding the skin with nutrients.

Key ingredients include:

Mango seed butter - this is a great emollient which helps to hydrate the skin.

Kigelia - helps to repair skin and keep blemishes at bay it has also been traditionally used for these purposes for many years.

Marula Oil - is becoming a popular ingredient and it is present in this cream, it is a powerful antioxidant meaning it is a free radical scavenger. It helps to smooth and hydrate the skin whilst also reducing redness.

Frankincense -  is great for its fragrance, anti-inflammatory and skin healing capabilities.

Baobab - you may have seen me talk about this fruit in some of my other reviews. Baobab is great for hydrating dry and damaged skin and is known to improve skin tone and elasticity. It is also a powerful antioxidant which will help combat free radical damage. Baobab is also great to be taken as a supplement.

There is a small amount of alcohol in this product which is disappointing however, I have not experienced any indications of irritation. The cream really focuses on keeping the skin hydrated and healing any damaged skin. I have really enjoyed using this cream on a daily basis. I feel it has really improved my skin by making it more plump and healthy looking. The downside as mentioned is the fact it contains alcohol and the packaging is a bit fiddly. I would prefer to see this in an airless pump to protect the cream from the air and bacteria but also for the convenience. This cream is also very expensive at £80 for 50ml. Do I think this is too expensive? Maybe however, you have to consider the amount of research and time that has been put into the special cream and the brand as a whole. Dr Jackson's aim to be an ethical business who consider the environment and aim to be as natural as possible. They also do not test on animals. A small percent of their profits also go towards helping to build the Natural Products Community.

Overall I love this cream, the texture, the smell and the ingredients. It lasted around 6 weeks using it day and night. I would defiantly use this again in the future and I hope you can also give this a go. I would be suprised if you were disappointed by the results.  I have rated this a HGB rating of 4/5 leafs. Have you tried this or any products from the Dr Jackson's range?

HGB's favourite product of 2013

HGB's product of the year 2013
Well 2013 is over and it got me thinking what is my favourite product of the year, what's the one product I can't live without? It's a tough one and after long consideration I've come to the conclusion it's Bodhi's Desert Rose.

You can read about my discovery of Desert Rose here back in February 2013.

If you know me well you will know Rose is my ultimate favourite. At the recent Samsara Christmas bloggers event I learnt the difference between a Rose Absolute and a Rose Otto. Rose Otto is far more superior to a Rose Absolute. You may be interested to know that Desert Rose contains over 500 roses in every 15ml bottle. Another reason to love this face oil!

The Desert Rose Face Oil and the Vaishaly Anti Ageing Night Cream have both been my staples this year and both work in complete harmony together. The Vaishaly Night cream pushes Desert Rose deeper into the dermis. The oils from Desert Rose also take the peptides and actives from the Vaishaly Night Cream into the deep layers of the dermis.

For anti ageing fans you might be interested to know that Rose Oil contains over 300 compounds which is so complex that scientists are unable to replicate them in a lab. Some of the main active constituents are quercetins - a flavonoid that have powerful anti oxidants and anti inflammatory properties. Rose contains Anthocyanins pigments which are also present in rose oil helping to protect skin cells and strengthen the capillaries in the skin. Anthocyanins also help to protect skin cells from sun damage.

Desert Rose has an jaw dropping exquisite fragrance of an intense Rose and also honey dew. It's fantastic and truly has a wow factor. It has an exceptionally long lasting fragrance that will relax the senses and calm the mind.

Face Oils are fast becoming one of my favourite products as I find them to be way more effective than using a moisturiser alone. I predict in 2014 that Face Oils will become even bigger. Do yourself a favour and try Desert Rose if you haven't already, you never know it might just be the one!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2014!

Samsara Skin Beauty Blogger Christmas Event

Samsara BBlogger Xmas Event 2013 at Lakeside Gallery at Custard Factory Birmingham
For those of you who don't know, Samsara Skin is an organic and natural skincare clinic in my home town of Birmingham. It opened its doors during September this year. The clinic was set up by beauty bloggers Andy from Pampered Prince and Jessica from Spoilt Face (now both aestheticians and organic skincare guru's). I am so pleased they decided to set the store up as until it opened it was so difficult to find natural and especially organic products in Birmingham. The organic and natural skincare market in Birmingham was very limited to just Harvey Nichols and Selfridges selling only Ren, Nude, Dr Hauschka and Neals Yard between them. Harvey Nichols in Birmingham has in the past sold brands like my favourite Vaishaly skincare and other brands like Spiezia Organics and Omorovicza, all of which became discontinued.

Samsara skin specialises in skincare brands such as Bodhi, Pai, Honest skincare, Balmology, CosMedix and offers organic nutritional supplements like Viridian and Collagen Shots.

Samsara also offers friendly advice, consultations and beauty treatments which are top class and luxurious especially their facials and massages. They also use specialist equipment such as the Omnilux Light Therapy machine. You can see their Treatment menu here.

Samsara Skin reminds me of a young Being Content in the heart of the midlands. For those who cannot get to the clinic they also have an online store where you can purchase all the products and supplements they stock in store.

Samsara Skin Store
Last month I had possibly the best facial at Samsara Skin with Andy who used a mystery brand. Andy is truly talented and my skin was glowing afterwards. It was truly a blissful experience and I urge anyone who needs some deep relaxation to go for a facial at Samsara Skin.

I am so happy that Samsara Skin has been opened, it's so nice to be able just to pop in a local store and buy something instead of having to purchase from the internet. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Samsara. Andy and Jess are absolutely delightful people and they are great friends. You could never want to meet more of a genuine kind hearted pair of souls.
Jess and me at the Samsara Skin opening night 19th September '13
The Samsara Skin Beauty Blogger Christmas Event on Saturday the 7th December 2013

Yesterday I attended the Samsara Skin Beauty Blogger Christmas Event. The Christmas event was held at the Lakeside Gallery in the Custard Factory just around the corner from the Samsara Store. I was greeted at door by Jessica who gave me a massive hug and also her sister who gave me a beautifully yummy collagen shot and fruit juice in a champagne glass.
I then joined the other bloggers all of which I'd never met before apart from Jen from Bare Faced Chic. I met some lovely follow beauty bloggers such as Hephzibah from Good For Me - Good For You, the gorgeous and kind Vicki from Lets Talk Beauty and the charming and funny Sophia from Tattooed Tea Lady
Andy and Jessica from Samsara Skin
The event started with the Bodhi perfume master class. I was absolutely in my element. We were split into two groups of five. Elijah from Bodhi gave us an introduction into perfumes and fragrances and informed us of the aromatherapy and skin care benefits of essential oils. Elijah also explained the commonly mistaken difference between a true essential oil and an absolute. Elijah also gave us an in-depth explanation of Top, Heart and Base notes. Elijah demonstrated these with a few different oils so we could see the difference and complexity between them. Then we smelt the wide selection of essential oils laid before us on the table so we could identify the types of scent we liked.
Elijah from Bodhi talking about essential oils and their benefits
If you know me well you will know I'm a huge Floral fan liking beautiful sweet and feminine scents like Rose and Jasmine. I worked my way through smelling all the Top, Heart and Base Notes. Of course loving all the Floral notes, with not surprisingly Rose being my ultimate favourite. Elijah then handed out a few information handouts so we could start to design our very own perfume using the essential oils and cold pressed Argan oil (organic of course!!) as a carrier oil.
The Beauty Bloggers perfume's ready for judging
Each blogger were handed a cute mini Miron Glass roller ball and made their very own unique perfume. I went for all the Floral notes, such as Hyacinth, Geranium, Premium quality Bulgarian Rose Otto, Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood. We then got to name them, I called mine Rose Erotica as it is a beautiful sexy rosy scent. I'm so pleased with it and it is absolutely perfect for me. All of the bloggers fragrances were entered into a competition where the winner would win a bodhi gift set. I came second runner up.

After the bodhi perfume master class the bloggers were presented with a delicious vegan food feast and a tea buffet. I really loved the tea buffet as we could choose from a large selection of dried teas, herbs and fruit. I had blueberries, jasmine green tea and elderflower.
Some Bbloggers helping themselves to the vegan buffet
After our bite to eat Jessica and Andy sat the bloggers down to explain about a flash facial and how to make your own mask for a quick fix. They also talked about their experiences of skincare over their years of experience. Jessica and Andy both described how to use ingredients to suit your own skin type such as oatmeal, Manuka honey, rose hip oil and chamomile floral water for dry skin and rhassoul clay, enzymes and clarifying ingredients for oily skin.

Some of the products & ingredients demonstrated for the Flash Facial
After the flash facial bloggers were given the opportunity to take part in Samsara's gift box project for Shelter which will make a huge difference to the children and families in difficult circumstances this Christmas.

After the Christmas event had finished we went to the Samsara store and were given a generous goodie bag from Andy and Jessica thanking us for attending. The gorgeous black and gold gift bag includes gifts such as a mask, bodhi - Jasmine Falls body moisturiser (my favourite), Viridan Raw - Raw Organic Coconut Oil and Almost Edible mini candle - Orange and Clove and finally but not least a Christmas card with a voucher for a Complimentary facial at Samsara Skin!!
Goodie bag
After a day of being completely spoilt rotten, I honestly could not have wished for a better event. It was absolutely amazing and has really got me in the mood for Christmas. I hope this will be the first Samsara Skin Christmas event of many. Some of the bloggers travelled over 5 hours to get to Birmingham so they could attend the event. The event was a complete success.

I would like to thank Andy, Jessica and Elijah from bodhi making the event so special and amazing.

Results and review

This is a high luxury cream. Although £34.95 is not cheap for some with the all anti ageing actives it contains it's actually very reasonably priced. This white coloured cream is slightly thick but it is easily absorbed. It has a strong scent which is a mix of essential oils with high notes of Lavender, Palmarosa and Rose Geranium. With Lavender being the strongest scent it is a pleasure to use. The cream is rich in emollients such as Shea Butter, Sunflower Seed oil, Olive oil and Jojoba. This makes the cream very hydrating and my skin feels very relaxed and firm after use.

It contains a complex of Beech Bud extract, Rosehip Seed Oil, Cucumber seed extract and Mulberry Bark Extract which help to lighten age spots. I don't suffer from any pigmentation as I do not expose my skin to the sun and when I do I wear sunscreen therefore, I cannot comment on whether this moisturiser lightens age spots however, it does contain quite an array of beneficial anti ageing ingredients which help to lighten age spots. I am very impressed with the ingredients of this cream.

Age Defy+ is Green People's anti ageing premium line which contains advanced anti ageing technology, this is what attracted me to this cream. The cream is very rich in anti oxidants such as Avocado oil, Pomegranate Seed oil, Cranberry Seed Oil and one of my favourites Organic Green Tea Leaf Extract. These ingredients help to combat free radical damage which ages skin. By using this cream you are helping to protect your skin from pollution and free radicals whilst also nourishing your skin and keeping it hydrated.

Since using this cream my skin is more radiant and looks great when I get up in the morning. My skin tone seems somewhat even toned and softer. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and not greasy at all. It is very easy to apply and spreads on the face with great ease. The cream does not roll off and it is great to use with a serum.

The product is housed in an airless jar which protects the ingredients and the smell of the product. This means the active ingredients remain active and continue to deliver great results. Due to the airless dispenser it is very easy to dispense and control how much product you want to use.

Due to the constancy of this cream you only need to apply a small amount however, I would prefer this product to be 50ml. A little really does go a long way and less is certainly more with this cream especially with the gorgeous powerful scent.

This is 87.5% organic and I love the classy packaging. I've given this beautiful cream 4/5 leafs due to the small size. Although brightening the skin is not a concern for me I still like to use anti ageing creams and this almost ticks every box for me. Very impressed!

So for today only (6th December 2013) as part of Green People's 12 Days of Christmas when you purchase the Age Defy+ 24 Hour Brightening you get the AgeDefy+ Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator 30ml (worth £19.95) for free!

Results and review

This organic shampoo is superb. It has a gel consistency which is clear & slightly straw coloured.
It has a nice fresh non overpowering scent with top notes of organic rosemary and lavender oils. A little goes a long way and it is very concentrated. It foams up so much that I have enough foam to wash my body. This makes it a very versatile product. A pea size amount is ample.

This shampoo is perfect for winter. I always tend to get a dry and itchy scalp due to central heating. Many people seem to suffer with dandruff in the colder winter months me included. Since using this little diamond of a shampoo, I've noticed an immediate improvement to the condition of my scalp. It is less red and also less inflamed.

Despite being advertised for men I see no reason why women can't use this product. If you think you've tried every dandruff shampoo and given up hope give this a whirl. I can't see why a woman couldn't use this, it's very mild but ultra effective.

After every use, my hair feels clean and non striped. My scalp feels calmer and comforted.

This shampoo contains excellent ingredients such as pineapple which acts an exfoliator to the scalp and helps to get rid of product build up on the scalp and hair.  It contains anti inflammatory and soothing ingredients like Marshmallow and Aloe Vera. It contains organic Rosemary, Lavender and Tea tree oils which are renowned for their dandruff combatting and anti bacterial properties. I like that this is 99% natural, 75.8% organic and contains NO damaging and drying alcohol.

This is definitely a repurchase for me and I look forward to the long term effects of using this shampoo. I'm so impressed with this organic shampoo I've given it a Holistic Green Beauty rating of a perfect 5 leafs.

As part of the Green People 12 days of Christmas offer for today, the 5th December 2013 only you can buy the the shampoo for £7.50 instead of £10.50 available at www.greenpeople.co.uk what a fantastic price for such an amazing shampoo!
