John Masters Organics Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner

Background info

John Masters Organics have one of the best organic hair ranges on the market. The products are high performing, pure and high tech. I've tried so many organic hair care ranges from cheap to very high end but John Masters Organics really stands out. John Masters Organics products are luxurious and made with organic ingredients certified by Ecocert, they are never tested on animals and the packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable.

Hair wise I have dry coarse very dark hair. Being of English and Russian descent, I have inherited the straightness of my mothers hair and the coarseness of my fathers hair.

Back at the end of October 2012 I decided to dye my hair, as it's naturally very dark almost black. I just fancied a change. I bought a few box dyes and after the third attempt it had finally lightened to a light copper colour (see my Live Native Botanical Earth Mask review to see it). Unfortunately after dyeing my hair three times it left the condition of my hair in very bad condition - very dry and straw like to the touch. Then a month later I ran out of the Rahua Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner so I decided to buy John Masters as I usually alternate between Rahua and John Masters Organics. Although the Rahua Voluminous range is good it just didn't provide enough moisture and nourishment for my now dry and damaged hair. I decided to buy the Lavender Rosemary Shampoo (see my review of it here) along with this conditioner.

Application and texture

This conditioner is white and creamy with a medium to thick texture. It smells absolutely heavenly, almost like chocolate with a hint of lavender. I wash my hair everyday and use this conditioner everyday after shampooing. You don't have to use it everyday for good results, you can use it as a weekly treatment if you wish. I just get such good results that I like to use it everyday. I've been using it with the John Master Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo. I like to leave this conditioner in my hair for as long as possible however it states on the product to leave it in for two to five minutes.

Results and review

Several people I know use this as an intensive weekly treatment but I try to use it everyday. I really notice the difference in my hair if I don't get the time to apply in the morning.

After application of this conditioner my hair is smooth and frizz free. I'm really impressed with how this line leaves my hair and scalp in a healthy condition which only seems to improve with continued use. I get super shiny and easy to manage hair. This conditioner  leaves my hair soft and hydrated. I've tried all the John Masters Organics conditioners but this is now my favourite and it feels of very high quality. This has certainly helped my hair as well as my scalp which tends to suffer from irritation and occasional flakiness. I'm absolutely in love with the gorgeous smell of this, it smells to me like chocolate with slight hint of lavender. This does not have an overpowering smell of lavender.

This is the first time I've bought this conditioner and I will definitely buy it again. It's a great way to start the day due to the gorgeous scent this conditioner contains.

In conclusion when used with the Lavender and Rosemary shampoo they make the perfect duo leaving my hair in perfect condition again.

  3. I love natural hair products. Many of the ingredients used in chemical hair care to give a silky feeling and shine in the short term, actually damage hair in the long term. I have long hair and always struggled with split ends until I changed over to natural hair products. I love avocado oil for hair and so can imagine how intensely nourishing this must be. This will be my next conditioner for sure. x
