John Masters Organics have one of the best organic hair ranges on the market. Their products are high performing, pure and high tech. I've tried so many organic hair care ranges from cheap to very high end but John Masters Organics really stands out. The products are luxurious and made with organic ingredients which are certified by Ecocert, they are never tested on animals and the packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
Hair wise I have dry coarse very dark hair. Being of English and Russian descent, I have inherited the straightness of my mothers hair and the coarseness of my fathers hair.
Back at the end of October 2012 I decided to dye my hair, as it's naturally very dark almost black I just fancied a change. I bought a few box dyes and after the third attempt it had finally lightened to a light copper colour (see my Live Native Botanical Earth Mask review to see it). Unfortunately after dyeing my hair three times it left the condition of my hair in very bad condition - very dry and straw like to the touch. Then a month later I ran out of the Rahua Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner. I decided to buy John Masters Organics as I usually alternate between them and Rahua. Although the Rahua Voluminous range is good it just didn't provide enough moisture and nourishment for my now dry and damaged hair. I decided to buy the Lavender and Avocado Intensive Conditioner (see my review of it here) along with this shampoo.

Application and texture
This shampoo has a brown colour and thick texture with a pleasant herbal scent. It lathers up more than most natural shampoos.
I like to wet my hair and then apply this shampoo leaving it in the hair for a minute or so to let the fantastic nutritious ingredients work their magic.
I really like to massage this into my scalp to help with my symptoms of a dry and flaky scalp.

Results and review
The Honey and Hibiscus shampoo is my favourite from the John Masters Organic line, but I thought I'd try this product out for a change. This a great shampoo for getting the hair and scalp clean and removing product residue from styling products. I found it to be quite powerful yet quite gentle. This foams up a lot (see picture below).
If people switch to this shampoo from a chemical brand they may think this shampoo is drying. This is not the case, it's probably due to the fact it doesn't contain silicone that gives the hair a soft feel (as silicone is present in many chemical shampoos and conditioners). This shampoo leaves my hair shiny, silky and non frizzy. I've used without conjunction of the conditioner and it did not leave my hair or scalp feeling dry. It did leave my hair with a bit of grip.
This shampoo has some great ingredients like Lavender and Rosemary which are not only great for conditioning the hair and scalp but also great for the senses. This also contains Vitamin B5 which is very common in many shampoos. It contains exfoliating Willow Bark extract which is great for flaky scalps and for also aiding further conditioner absorption. White Tea acts as a powerful anti oxidant while the comfrey leaf extract acts as an anti inflammatory helping to heal red and irritated scalps. Soy protein also helps to promotes hair growth.
In conclusion this is a fantastic natural and organic shampoo. I will definitely be returning to this product in the future to help with my dry and damaged hair. It has made my hair manageable again. If you're looking for a high performance pure and organic shampoo then this product might be for you.
