Packaging
Plastic bottle with airless pump which is fully recyclable.
Application and texture
I've found that this product does separate slightly so before every application I shake the pump container vigorously to help the foundation ingredients bind back together.
Being oil based, the consistency is quite thick for a foundation, probably one of the thickest I've ever used. Although it has a thick consistency it blends easily and well into the skin. Like every foundation I would say the performance of this product is greatly dependant on what base you have underneath. I use the Vaishaly Day Moisturiser SPF15 underneath which is a staple in my routine which provides the perfect base. You should bare in mind in that this foundation is oil based and due to it being so concentrated only a small amount is required. Too much of the product could result in the skin looking too oily. I apply with my fingers - this leaves a very natural finish.Packaging

Results and review
The first time I tried this I'll be honest, I didn't like it. It just felt far too oily and thick even for my dry skin type. The reason for this is because I was using far too much of the product. Being oil based makes this product very concentrated meaning that only a tiny amount is required.
I've been using this foundation on and off for the past 6 months. I wanted to use it for quite some time before I reviewed it. So far I've experienced no gripes with this product other than I'm not overly keen on the smell of the product.
This foundation is unlike anything I've ever tried. I usually use waterbased liquid foundations, tinted moisturisers or BB creams. Overall I think this is a good foundation, I've found it to be very protective in the winter against the wind and bitter cold. Despite being oil based it has caused no breakouts which is nice. It provides a medium to full coverage and the skin appears nice and glowy after application. I'm not sure whether oily skin types would like this however, oil actually balances oil production so it may work for them. I would probably advise oily skin types to set with a powder just to take away any shine they may experience. I've read some superb reviews on this product and I really appreciate the purity of it. It contains some excellent skincare ingredients so you're not just getting a foundation. Some of the ingredients include Certified Organic Camellia Oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil which has powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, Lecithin which is skin repairing ingredient, beeswax which has emollient properties which is particular useful in the drying effects of winter and also Certified Organic Lotus Flowers which have a soothing, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
I have found it's perfectly safe to use around the eye area, because of the purity of the ingredients I have experienced no irritation.
After application it leaves a velvet silky feel and a luminous finish. I have found that the foundation does not settle into fine lines or pores (providing you use a good base underneath).
The Colour I use is S115 which seems to be a very popular colour, it blends in very well.
It seems these days that we want multitasking skincare and foundation products all in one. This product offers exactly that.

Hi Danny - great review! I still love this foundation. It reminds me a lot of the new Armani one, but that's silicone rather than oil based, which is no good for my skin at all. You're absolutely right - less is more with this one ;)
ReplyDeleteCamellia oil is one of my favourites: I use it to remove eye makeup as well as a hair pre-wash treatment.
I love how informative and thorough your reviews are and you have amazing taste, but reading your blog is doing my bank balance no favours :), I will try and get a sample of this as it sounds lovely. I am also now lusting over the Bodhi desert rose oil too which just sounds fabulous. x
ReplyDeleteI like vapour organic, and tried a sample if this last year from Naturusmo but I didn't like it at all I agree it was very oily and felt horrible on my skin which was a shame as the colour was great fir my pale skin, foundation is one of the most difficult things to fund a natural alternative for - ill keep trying though lol!
ReplyDeleteGreat review

Great review. Sounds like a fab foundation. I have to be honest I struggle to wear BB cream as with my skin type (combination) and my skin tone it just stands out and I can never get it to blend in proper. I need to get a sample of this and give it a whirl :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review of foundation. I like using organic beauty products like foundation, facewash, facepacks and eye-liner and many more.
